Royal fans have spotted a sweet detail in a new photo shared by Kate Middleton – her first since her infamous Mother’s Day photo scandal. The photo was taken for Prince Louis’ sixth birthday and it’s believed to be an unedited snap taken in the last couple of days.
The photo was shared on Instagram and X, with the caption reading, “Happy 6th Birthday, Prince Louis! 🎂 Thank you for all the kind wishes today.”
It comes after Kate shared a photo with her three children for Mother’s Day in the UK, which was later discovered to have been edited extensively.
Photo agencies quickly killed the photo when a number of glaring editing mistakes were discovered. AP was one of the agencies that retracted the photo, saying, “At closer inspection, it appears that the source has manipulated the image.”
This caused Kate to confirm the photo had been edited, taking to her Instagram Stories to share an unprecedented statement that read, “Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion with the family photograph we shared yesterday caused.”
Fans loved the photo of Prince Louis, with many noticing a sweet detail in the snap, with one user writing, “Looking just like Catherine!! Precious photo 🤍.”
“I think he’s grandpa Middletons double ! Bless him x,” another said,
“He looks just like his mama ♥️,” a third added.
“Handsome, just like his Grandpa Middleton. 😍,” someone else said.
“Happy birthday to Louis he looks so much like Kate and her dad!” yet another agreed.
While many fans shared their love for the image, one X user added, “What’s sad about this is that we all know there are millions of people running this through AI detection software and analysing every single pixel forensically 🙄.”
“The fact that AI has messed up his fingers in two recent photos and they chose to go with a photo of his hand and fists here… I’m not certain that’s coincidence,” another added on Instagram.
Following Kate’s PhotoShop scandal, the Princess of Wales revealed she has actually been battling cancer, which was discovered during her abdominal surgery in January.
